Useful clothes: “maglietta” (t-shirt), “maglione” (sweater), “pantaloni” (trousers), “giacca” (jacket), “vestito” (dress/suit).

the size
Italian clothing sizes usually run 38–50 (S≈44, M≈48). For shoes it's “il numero” (e.g. 40, 42). “I wear an M / a 44.”

the fitting room
“Provare” = to try on; “il camerino” = the fitting room. At the entrance, staff often tell you how many items you may take in.
